Tim Propst
Artistic absurdity from North Carolina artist Tim Propst.
Artist's Statement
The artist was not starving, only hungry.
What do we say here? It's hard to describe someone who is not here. All we have are impressions, simulations, and the Work.
He had a lot of works in different styles and mediums, with widely variable subjects or no subject at all. He created whatever he wished and expressed it in very different, even paradoxical ways.
He played with images and ideas. Sometimes it was serious play, other times it was trivial. Sometimes it was "traditional" and classically inspired, other times it was provocative and ignored boundaries almost completely. Don't try to digest it all at once.

He turned clay into stoneware in the tradition of the area he was born in.
